The Sound That Defined an Era
The Roland JP-8000's supersaw oscillator became the cornerstone of trance and progressive house in the late '90s—its lush, wide character shaped an entire era of dance music. SuperClassic recaptures that legendary sound with modern fidelity: a precisely modeled supersaw engine now allowing four stacked oscillators in unison, oversampled filters with hyper-accurate response, 32-voice polyphony, and our proprietary SuperDrift™ engine that brings unprecedented width, warmth and fizz to the legendary character. Built from scratch with studio-grade DSP, SuperClassic delivers the familiar tone you know with the clarity and precision modern production demands. This is the sound that shaped dance music, enhanced.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is SuperClassic and what makes it special?
+SuperClassic is a focused but powerful synthesizer plugin and while inspired by the legendary Roland JP-8000 Supersaw oscillator, it has some special features that are unique to SuperClassic. It lets you stack up to four Supersaw oscillators in unison for huge, larger-than-life stereo leads and pads. One of the key elements in JP-8000's Supersaw was the keytracking high-pass filter - SuperClassic allow you to adjust that filter now for more precise control. One of the key features however is the SuperDrift algorithm that modulates each osillators' phase separately for maximum width and warmth.
Do I need a Roland JP-8000 to use SuperClassic?
+No. SuperClassic is a plugin that runs inside your DAW. It's a modern re-imagining of the classic hardware, complete with a few new tricks of its own.
How do I run SuperClassic?
+SuperClassic is a plugin, not a standalone app. To use it, you'll need music production software (a DAW, or Digital Audio Workstation) such as Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Cubase, or similar. Once installed, SuperClassic will show up in your DAW's instrument list just like any other virtual instrument.
What makes SuperClassic sound like the JP-8000?
+SuperClassic faithfully implements many of the original JP-8000's design choices — including a keytracking high-pass filter on each oscillator, a precisely captured detune profile, and rigorously A/B-modeled amp and filter envelopes. The filter itself has been carefully recreated, and with oversampling its resonance character truly comes alive. On top of that, our SuperDrift micro-phase offsets keep the saws pure and vibrant, making it feel almost like this is how the JP-8000 was always meant to sound.
What does the SuperDrift control do?
+SuperDrift builds on standard detune. Instead of only shifting oscillators in fixed increments, it adds natural, evolving micro-phase variations. The result is a wider, more organic Supersaw that feels alive — much like the subtle instability of true analog hardware.
Which formats and platforms does SuperClassic support?
+Currently, SuperClassic is available as VST3 (Windows & macOS) and AudioUnit (macOS). Support for CLAP and AAX is in development.
How many voices of polyphony does SuperClassic have?
+SuperClassic supports up to 32 voices per instance.
Does SuperClassic include presets?
+Yes! While it focuses on saw-based sounds and doesn't include a full modulation matrix, you'll still find a surprising variety of presets covering leads, pads, basses, and more.
How demanding is SuperClassic on my computer?
+SuperClassic is highly optimized and runs smoothly on modern systems. However, CPU usage scales with polyphony and oscillator count — for example, a pad using 4 stacked Supersaws and 32 voices can be demanding even on powerful machines. To keep your projects efficient, use the lowest polyphony setting that fits your track. Check our system requirements and download the free demo to ensure compatibility.
Why does Windows SmartScreen warn me when installing SuperClassic?
+Windows may show this message for software that isn’t yet recognized in Microsoft’s reputation system. This is common for small developers when installers aren’t signed with an Extended Validation certificate. You can safely choose More info → Run anyway to continue.
Is there a demo version?
+Yes absolutely! Download Free Demo here →
How does licensing work? Can I install on multiple computers?
+When you purchase SuperClassic, you'll receive a license key that can be activated on up to 3 computers you personally own. License management, downloads, and key details are available through your account at hahmodsp.com.
Do you offer refunds?
+Software sales are generally final, but we believe in fair play — if you feel a refund is justified, contact us at support@hahmodsp.com and we'll do our best to help.
What kind of music is SuperClassic best suited for?
+SuperClassic shines in dance genres like Trance and Progressive, but its lush, wide sound also fits well into many other electronic and cinematic styles.
Will SuperClassic work in my DAW?
+SuperClassic works in any DAW that supports VST3 (Windows/macOS) or AudioUnit (macOS), including popular programs like Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Cubase, Studio One, and more.
